This article proposes a journey through different feminist theories that inquires about the assumptions of classical Marxism in its analysis of the so-called “women's issue” The unifying thread is the critique of the Marxian concept of the division of labor which led to deep theoretical-political dislocations and, since the 1970s, it has led to its radical reformulation in the Francophone materialist feminist current through the approach of the social structural relations of gender [rapports sociaux de sexe]
