The role of unemployment and inflation in the performance of GDP by 2020
Main Article Content
This article analyzes the impact of the pandemic on the negative trend of unemployment and inflation in some Latin American countries, based on four relevant aspects: shocks between inflation and unemployment; effects of the health crisis; behavior of GDP using the Phillips curve; and the relationship between prices and production in the aggregate supply curve. The accelerated spread of the covid-19 had a major impact on economies worldwide. Governments were faced with a health crisis that not only took lives, but also increased the external public debt and demanded the creation of new policies to counteract the effects of the pandemic. Using full employment scenarios, we will observe the impact of the pandemic on inflation, unemployment and economic growth.
