This article proposes a fourfold counterpoint in relation to the idea of “technological convergence”. The diagnosis made long ago by Langdon Winner of technological sleepwalking is deepened by the arguments of André Gorz, who establishes the link between such a situation and the process of capital appreciation under the work culture. The author concludes by showing how, based on this, it is possible to approach a “new technological strategy”, in accordance with the vertical dimension proposed by Gilbert Simondon or the –zigzagging— horizontal by Gilles Deleuze.
