The discussion presented in the article is based on the thesis that higher education, especially the Colombian public university, has been configured as one of the scenarios par excellence for the production and reproduction of geometries of power. The teacher hiring policy implemented in public universities has led to the fact that most of the teachers who work in them are temporary, which has led, among other situations, to a high level of instability and loss of job guarantees. This constitutes a violation of labor rights since it ignores equality and affects the academic quality of the educational offer in eighteen public universities analyzed.
